Cutting and welding in one process

The task is to cover soft plastic foam rings for headphones with synthetic leather. If possible, the required process steps should be carried out simultaneously, not least in order to achieve the right positioning.

Breathing Mask

 

The edge of the cut-outs for a breathing mask has to be sealed with a soft finish, firstly in order to ensure good wear comfort and secondly in order to prevent the non-woven material from fraying.

Suction Pad

A rectangular suction pad consisting of various woven and non-woven layers, has to be cut out of flat raw material and sealed around the edge using structured edge welding.

Filter insert with wavy edge zone

 

A specially shaped filter insert consisting of various woven and non-woven layers has to be cut out of flat raw material.

Bolster Insert

A bolster insert has to be cut out of flat raw material consisting of woven and non-woven layers and has to be finished with a 2 mm edge weld along the cut edge.

Filter insert with edge bead

A round filter insert and consisting of a number of non-woven layers is to be produced from flat raw material. The insert must have a retaining bead around the edge for holding the insert in the component. 

Filter with pointed corners

The ventilation opening in an electronic component has to be protected against the ingress of dust, using a fine fleece filter. The square filters require a sealed edge zone and pointed corners.

Strap fixing for breathing mask

A mechanically firm opening is required in a soft non-woven material for fixing the rubber strap of a breathing mask.

Antiseptic dressing with catheter opening

Antiseptic dressings often consist of a number of different material layers, each with different tasks and requirements; they have to be produced in a variety of shapes using continuous sandwich base material.
