Besides the sealing of very different laminate and plastic foils, with ultrasonics these materials can also be cut quickly and cleanly , enabling the cutting and cut-edge sealing steps to happen simultaneously. This cut-and-seal technique produces lint-free and smooth edges on diverse multi-layered materials. Usually the cutting-die is positioned in an anvil while the weld horn mostly presents a plane surface.
