(Interview with Massimo Luminari, CEO of El.Ma.,
manufacturer of special systems, equipment for the automotive industry, filters
of all kind and general plastic applications, based in Riva del Garda, Italy)
El.Ma. Electronic Machining S.R.L. was founded in Faenza,
Italy in 1990, and is a small family business with 15 employees. The company
builds special systems for industry as well as for research institutions and
universities (e.g Trento University). Telsonic started its first joint project
with Electronic Machining in summer 2015. In this interview, the Managing
Director of Electronic Machining, Massimo Luminari, explains why he chose
Telsonic.
How is the market for ultrasonic welding processes and
devices developing?
At Electronic Machining we can see that there is a growing
market for special systems. For safety reasons, more and more countries are
stipulating the use of products for accident prevention.
Which industries and applications are you primarily
interested in?
We are especially interested in ultrasonic applications for
filters of all kind, for the automotive industry and for general plastic
applications. We also hope that the versatile ultrasonic technology will allow
us to open up new markets and thus to diversify.
Please describe the technical application of the system for
manufacturing of plastic profiles?
Using mechanical saws installed on its side, the system cuts
the rollers to size from the extruded profiles and then cycles them
individually in front of the Telsonic ultrasonic systems on guide chains for
the welding of the end caps. The final fitting of the slats and their threading
in is then completed manually.
