Ultrasonic welding of the caps for swimming pool roller strips
In Italy TELSONIC created several fully automated ultrasonic systems for watertight welding of end caps for swimming pool roller strips.
Previously, the end caps were glued on. The disadvantage of this type of production was that, after they had been glued, the end caps had to be hardened for several days prior to further use. This cost time and money. Solar radiation causes the glue to come loose and condensation can form within the roller. Heat insulation during the night was also no longer guaranteed.
TELSONIC was able to solve these problems thanks to ultrasonic welding and the redesign of the caps. The next ultrasonic system will be approx. 22 m long and will also take the shape of the swimming pools (rectangular corner, rounded, heart, etc.) into account i.e. the rollers will be brought together automatically and, prior to the ultrasonic welding, set in the correct shape at the end with a milled head from above.
