Ultrasound for industrial processes is a very energy-efficient technology. The energy is used specifically and released only for as long as it is needed. Losses due to, e.g. heating are minimal.

Joining technology

Connections using industrial ultrasound do not require any additives or aids. There is no outgassing by adhesives or solvents. Solder and flux are not required for ultrasonic metal welding either.

By using ultrasonic technology, it is often possible to forego upstream and downstream work steps and processes (cleaning, drying, cutting), which are indispensable in other procedures. 

 

Process technology

The ultrasound causes a continuous cleaning of the screen. The extension of the cleaning intervals results in a noticeable reduction of cleaning agent. The high-frequency vibrations loosen lumps, which leads to reduced waste in powder.

When cleaning with ultrasound, bubbles are formed in the cleaning medium for a short time, which then implode again (cavitation). This cavitation causes a pore-deep, mechanical cleaning, which saves on chemical additives.

The pollution of our environment with plastics is a worldwide issue. The plastics industry has responded to this and is constantly developing new materials and processes for better environmental compatibility. Telsonic is actively involved in the development of these new compounds and processes. In our laboratories, new materials are constantly being tested for their weldability. Be it bioplastics from renewable raw materials at the beginning of the material cycle or compostable materials at the end.

The classic recycling cycle is sustainable only if a high proportion of plastics is reused in new products. To this end, it is important to maintain sorting purity. Ultrasound is the technology that is well suited for joining single-variety plastics. Even if the sorting purity in recycled materials is no longer 100%, ultrasound can be used to weld process-safe joints. And if material changes in the recyclate have a negative effect on the welding process, this can be reliably detected.
